The Purpose-Built Woman

If you're up right now, this is for you.

Hey sis. If someone's hoodie brought you here, or you just couldn't sleep, I'm glad you came.

I know this hour. I've spent 24 years working nights, and I've stood in quiet hallways at 2 a.m. asking God if He still saw me. Asking why my life looked the way it did. Asking who I even was anymore.

Here is what I know now: the questions you ask at 2 a.m. don't scare God. He isn't tired of you. He isn't disappointed that you're still awake, still hurting, still wondering. He's up too.

You are not forgotten. You are not too far gone. You are just tired. Rest if you can. The night does end.

Vera

He who watches over you will not slumber.

Psalm 121:3

Pray this with me

God, it's late, and my mind won't be still. You know what I'm carrying tonight, even the parts I can't say out loud.

Remind me that I am Yours. Quiet the voices that say I'm too broken or too late. Show me who You made me to be, one step at a time.

Hold me through this night, and meet me in the morning. Amen.
